Catching Some Crabby Candle Co.

Crabby Candle Co. was one of the new vendors that caught my eye when I re-entered the world of wax. In early January, I wasn't sure whether they were opened, the Facebook page stated they were preparing for an opening but no date or announcement was provided after that. But they must be properly opened now because yesterday, they posted a sale for 15% off all products (discount code: TeamCrabby) and free shipping over $25 (on-going till Friday, 21 Feb!), and I immediately clicked onto the site to plan my order.

Apple Clover
Bird of Paradise
Brandied Pear
Cactus & Sea Salt
Cherry Pez
Coconut Lime Verbena
Cookie Madness
Farmer's Market
Fruity Rings
Honeysuckle Pear
Ice Cream Scoop Bread
Lemon Squares
Macintosh Apples
Pink Dunes
Pink Peppermint
Raspberry Lemonade
Serendipity
Southern Iced Tea
Sugar Cookie
Vanilla Lavender

Crabby has a nice range of scents and I got 20 scent shots in all, a mix of dupes like Coconut Lime Verbena and Pink Dunes, new-to-me scents like Apple Clover, Bird of Paradise, Ice Cream Scoop Bread and Serendipity. I can also never resist ordering Fruit Loops (or Fruity Rings) and Cactus & Sea Salt in my quest to find a regular vendor for them.

Anyone planning any orders? Because I am! I am hoping to catch the Super Tarts restock on Thursday evening (Friday morning for me). I am also looking at Tiffany Candles, Sweet Fixations, Nene's Kitchen Melts or L3 Waxy Wonders. All opinions and thoughts on these vendors are appreciated!

  1. Hi Michelle! I've had good luck with both Sweet Fixations and Nene's Kitchen Melts, though I haven't tried the others. I especially like Tia's (SF) serendipity blends and lavenders, and Nene has some lovely creative blends you won't see anywhere else. Hope that helps!

    1. Hi Kate! Ooh, that's good to know! Which blends from Nene's do you like?

    2. I've mostly tested the fall and holiday scents so far: Winter Market, Pumpkin Butter, Vanilla Snowflake, Cranberry Chutney, Sugar Corn Pudding and Lea St Barth are all very nice.

    3. I think I have Lea St Barth on the list! I am now curious about Sugar Corn Pudding, been seeing it mentioned around these days!

  2. Great order!! I did two super pans and the Feb sampler from super tarts and I have really enjoyed them. I love Sweet Fixations florals, especially her violet and birch and vanilla sandalwood and lavender blends. I liked Tiffany's birthday bash scoopable. I ordered a loaf of fruit loop serendipity from L3 based on Sunnee's review and it has been delightful. I have never tried NeNe's. Deb from It's Always Something has a ton of reviews of Sweet Fixations scents. I would like to order from SMT and RG in March/April so I play with scent combos for that quite a bit :-) I would also like to place another CFTKR order soon or TBG. One or other. Good luck for super tarts!!! They fly off the shelf!!

    1. Brandy's super pans are awesome, I can't believe they are made out of wax! I am crossing my fingers really hard for the restock, I just hope she opens when I reach the office with a computer rather than while I am still on my commute! I have the SF Violet & Birch on my list! Yay!

SMT is probably in another future batch of orders, I just joined their FB group and am slowly figuring out how they work. I heard they are opening in March? Ooh, TBG, I am thinking getting in on the Alice restock! How was it like ordering from L3? Although it says she's open to custom orders, it somehow doesn't 'feel' open? I am also apprehensive of the scent blending so I am trying to read and watch as much youtube videos to find out what are good, safe, scent blends to start.

  3. I heard March too for SMT. I ordered back in November but my name hasn't come up yet. L3 is open but TAT has gone up a bit. You order by looking at her scent list and messaging her what you would like. I did a small one. One loaf and two single scents in shapes. Happy shopping!!

    1. That's a custom order? Wow, that's a really long TAT. I have been considering putting my name down for the mystery box. I am hoping to catch the L3 mystery box tonight. Otherwise I am going to go back to plotting scent blends and just do a custom order. What did you get in your small order?

  4. Yes it is long and I only ordered 4 mini pies. But my SMT mystery box should be here next week sometime. I am really excited about it! From L3 I ordered a loaf in serendipity fruit loop (really good and strong!) and a TARDIS shape in mahagony Teakwood (it is light on cold sniff right now) and Dalek shapes in black pepper bergamot (smells strong and a good dupe of BBW candle on cold). If you get a smt mystery box let us know!!

    1. I am excited to see it too, do you have a blog or youtube where you will be showing it? Oh, my main objective of L3 is to get the Tardis and Dalek shapes too! ^5 to a fellow Whovian! :)

  5. A fellow Doctor lover!!!! Sa-weet!!! The Delek and Tardis molds are really awesome! Big too, an ounce and a half or more each I'd say. And four to a pack. I don't blog or youtube but I love following my friends' wax blogs.

  6. Out of the three vendors, I've only tried TC and I love her loaves, scoopable wax in comparison to her fluted tarts. I'm still debating if I should wait to buy from L3. So many new vendors out there.

    1. Thanks for the opinion! TC's loaves and scoopable wax do seem to be getting lots of love right now. Unfortunately they are out of the question for me because of international shipping. Which other new vendors are you eyeing?

  7. Hi Michelle! Looks like you've got a great order there from Crabby on the way. I would highly suggest L3 Waxy Wonders, Tiffany Candles and Nene's Kitchen Melts from your list. I myself haven't had a whole lot of luck with Tiffany's but I know the majority of people in the wax community have, and then the other 2 I personally have good luck with. I'm hoping to order from both LSC and SMT in the coming weeks, whenever they both decide to open. I'm going to try to stick to those orders but I'd like to try to get some Super Tarts as well. I got 2 Super Pans from them and didn't care for the scents I'd chosen but I did get to try another scent from a friend and it was awesome! So hopefully I will catch that as well. Can't wait to see what orders you decide to place =)

    1. Hiya! I placed a Super Tarts order (just blogged my ordering experience)! Oh, so sorry about your Super Pans. They look really cool though, I never knew wax could look so awesome. I think I am going to go with either Nene's or L3. For L3, I hope to get in on her flash sales so I don't have to plot out scent blends. I am still too new to the wax world to be confident in knowing what I like and blending them together.
